“Chaol Westfall has always defined himself by his unwavering loyalty, his strength, and his position as the Captain of the Guard. But all of that has changed since the glass castle shattered, since his men were slaughtered, since the King of Adarlan spared him from a killing blow, but left his body broken.
His only shot at recovery lies with the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica–the stronghold of the southern continent’s mighty empire. And with war looming over Dorian and Aelin back home, their survival might lie with Chaol and Nesryn convincing its rulers to ally with them.
But what they discover in Antica will change them both–and be more vital to saving Erilea than they could have imagined.”
So, when Sarah J. Maas released a new book, I thought that would be the continuation of the Empire of Storms, because I’m so exited to read it! But no. I thought Sarah J. Maas would disappoint me but hey, it’s no again! Because Tower of Dawn is all about Chaol Westfall’s story being unfold! After being excluded on the book Empire of Storms, because he kinda got sick, finally,he’s having a comeback! And also Yrene Towers from the book the Assassin’s Blade have a comeback too!
Sarah J. Maas have brought us again to the southern continent. Well we’ve learn a few things and met new characters that came from the southern continent from the previous books. But here, the story’s setting is on the Southern Continent that was why we have a chance to see more of it than we actually hoped. I love to read a book with new setting, new place, new characters that stood out here actually. Talk about Maas being Maas. I like Yrene’s character here. She still acts like a professional healer when she’s working with Chaol even though she have a hidden hatred towards Chaol’s former position from the land where he came from. And when Nesryn and Sartaq are together, they seem so carefree but you will still see that they are very respectable person. Many secrets are also revealed here. And it actually, really had blown my mind!
Overall, this book is worth the wait and worth to read. I recommend this book to the people who doesn’t love Chaol right from the moment that he was in from the previous books. (I love him since I have read his appearance from the first book. He’s so cool!) And to Maas, you did it again! Creating a new world that will surely love your dear previous readers. Looks like you outdone yourself again!!
“In Tower of Dawn, Sarah J. Maas turns a corner from sprawling epic to thrilling psychological fantasy.” — Huffpost
“In the end, this was not just a story of how Chaol became stronger, it was a story of how many characters came to terms with who they are and where they need to go. It was a story of changing paths and how those paths lead people to one other. And more than anything else, it was a story of hope.” — Odyssey
