Crown of Midnight

“From the throne of glass rules a king with a fist of iron and a soul as black as pitch. Bold, daring, and lethal, assassin Celaena Sardothien won the brutal contest to become his Champion. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown. She hides her secret vigilantly; she knows that the man she serves is bent on evil.

Keeping up the deadly charade becomes increasingly difficult when Celaena realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. As she tries to untangle the mysteries buried deep within the glass castle, her closest relationships suffer. It seems no one is above questioning her allegiances—not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a foreign princess with a rebel heart.

Then, an unspeakable tragedy shatters Celaena’s world. She must decide once and for all where her loyalties lie . . . and whom she will fight for.”

Insights

This book is so enthralling. It is impossible to put down when you start ed reading it.

You’ll be engrossed with the characters, especially on Celaena Sardothien. She stand out in this book and I really do like her. No, scatch that, I love her! She’s so fierce, cunning, clever and sly. But aside from that, she also have a good heart. Like, she’s a notorious assassin first, then she won on a competition where she become the king’s champion, who needs to follow the all the king’s order to kill his enemies. But she had believed in herself that all the king’s enemy are actually good people. So she had fakes their deaths and betrayed the king. But the story does not only revolve around Celaena, betraying the king’s orders. But also in other things that will surely blow your mind. Like she then later on discovered her true identity. Which will be exposed and her journey will continue on the third book entitled The Heir of Fire.

I do recommend this book for the people out there who want to read some novel with a very shocking twist, not only in the end but all over the story. And also, i just wanted to say that I don’t think Sarah J Maas hasn’t outdone herself yet in this book.
